In 2012 Mel was training hard for her target event: she was running 150 miles per week and holding down jobs in personal fitness and as a nurse as well as managing family commitments. Is Mel super-woman? Well, quite possibly. The event she was training for was running from John O’Groats to Lands End. An enormous challenge and Mel managed to cover 262 miles in just over 4 days before injury forced her to stop. But Mel is very modest about her achievements, preferring to remember a personal training client, a 6 year old girl who has cerebral palsy, when she finds the going tough. And now following on from her 262 mile run, Mel is looking for something different, exciting and challenging pushing herself further. She believes that being part of the Trail Team will inspire and challenge her. We think that it will be Mel inspiring and challenging us, rather than the other way round!
